Bruce M. Norton 1948-2018

North Anson- Bruce M. Norton died Feb. 23rd, 2018 in his home surrounded by family after a brief illness. He was born April 28, 1948 in Boston, MA. He was the son of William and Louise (Cotter) Norton. He graduated from Oliver Ames High School in Easton, MA.  where he grew up. He went on to 2 years of community college for business where he worked in retail management most of his life. He retired from Hannaford Supermarket where he worked the last 10 years. He was a car enthusiast, handyman, lover of television and an avid golfer at Brockton Country Club for many years.

He leaves behind his wife Leona Norton, sons Bruce Norton Jr., Robert Norton and Christopher Norton. Cousin Paul & Pat Cotter, Sister-in-laws and Brother in-laws, Cathy & Richard Schleier, Maroon & Kathy Bosader, Tom & Cheryl Elliott, Donna Norton & Carol Bosader. Many nieces, nephews & great nieces & nephews. Predeceased by brothers William Norton & John Norton.  

I would like to thank our amazing family and friends for all the love, support and caring during his final journey. Thank you to Maine General Hospice Services for the great care and support you all gave to him and our family.

A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest, it broke our hearts to see you go, God only takes the best. They say that memories are golden, well maybe that is true, but we never wanted memories, we only wanted you. Although you never complained we knew deep inside, the pain that you endured you always did hide. You made us laugh everyday with words and facial expressions; as tears and sadness were surely not your style. You were truly one of a kind.

Your life was love and labor, your love for your family true, you did your best for all of us, we will always miss you.  We sat beside your bedside, our hearts were crushed and sore, we did our duty to the end, till we could do no more. Now it's time for you to go and continue on your quest, you filled our hearts with love and laughter, for that we are forever blessed.

There will be no wake or funeral. A celebration of life party will be held at a later date for family, friends and loves one's per Bruce's last wishes.
