George F. Carter Sr.,69, of North Anson passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 at EMMC in Bangor with his loving family by his side.

 

He was born in Madison on November 03, 1948. The son of Franklin and Ruth (Greene) Carter. He attended local schools until eighth grade when he entered the working world to help support his family. He owned his own construction business in Massachusettes and worked for his uncle over the road. At the age of 25 he moved back to Maine and became a woodsman.

 

George went on to marry the love of his life Renee Parlin. They share three beautiful children. As a family they traveled fair to fair with their pulling ponys. A sport he was able to share with all.

 

The last nine years he did a lot of fishing, camping, trailing and made the most out of his retirement.

 

He will be greatly missed by all.

 

George is predeceased by his parents, daughters Christy Sanchez and Amanda J. Carter, his grandson Markie W. Schinzel, his nephews Greg Jones and Ronnie Withee Jr. and a Niece Willow Carter.

 

He is survived by his children George Carter Jr. and Amy Carter and her significant other Dylan Merrill. His grandchildren Breanna Rainville, Bradley Lane, Shelby Carter, Dylan and Savaha Arsenault. His oldest sister Diane Carey and her husband Calvin and their children Veronica, Michelle and Kim. A sister Phyliss Jones and her children Roy and P.J. Jones and Mattie Wheeler. A sister Paula Riviea and her children Derik, Ruth, Andrea, David and Tanya. His brother Kenny Carter and his wife Phasilli and their children Lisa Carter, Tammy, Tonya Downs and Kenny Carter Jr.

 

Visiting hours will be held at Giberson Funeral Home 40 Maple Street Madison, Maine on Saturday April 21, 2018 from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Followed by a Celebration of Life with Potluck at the American Legion Post 139 in Madison from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Please bring your favorite dish.
