GERALDINE V. THIBODEAU
1935 - 2016


MADISON - Geraldine V. Thibodeau, 81, of Madison passed away Monday morning, January 18, 2016, at her home.

She was born in Skowhegan on January 4, 1935, the daughter of Gerald and Harriet Campbell. Geraldine attended Madison schools. She married Rodney C. Thibodeau, Sr. on October 12, 1951; they had five wonderful children, nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

She worked at the Redington-Fairview General Hospital and also co-owned Thib's Market in Madison from 1969 to 1979 with her husband.

Geraldine was a very active member of the First Congregational Church in Norridgewock. She was past Asst. Treasurer and worked tirelessly for many pot luck suppers and fund raisers for the church.

She is survived by two children, Kathy Cancik and her husband, Phil, of Buckeye, AZ, and Victor Thibodeau of Allenstown, NH; a sister, Doris Carr of Hartland, ME; grandchildren, Melody Price of Madison, Matthew (Joyce) Perkins of Madison, Stacy (David) Woods of Buckeye, AZ, Jamie (Derek) Nadeau of Yarmouth, ME, Mariann (David) Cassidy of NH, Paula Jo Bruneau of Sacramento, CA, Katy (Randy) Nickerson of Madison, Chuck Nickerson of Madison, and Krystin Thibodeau of NH; twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Geraldine was predeceased by her husband, Rodney, of 54 years; her daughter, Debbie Bruneau of Madison and her two sons; Leland Thibodeau of South Carolina and Rodney Thibodeau, Jr. of Madison and Oakland; and her brother, Victor Campbell.

A Memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church in Norridgewock on Friday, January 29, 2016, at 5:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, friends may donate in her memory to: Skowhegan Humane Society, Skowhegan, ME 04976.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday , October 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Southside Cemetery in Skowhegan.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Giberson Funeral Home of Madison.
