Kenneth Ernest Andrews 85, of Bingham passed away surrounded by family at the Somerset Rehabilitation Center on November 28th after a battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease.
He born at home February 21, 1931 the third child of Clayton and Alice Andrews.
In his earlier years, he worked in the family business in the grist mill and hardware store. He picked rear on the river drive and drove logs in a bateau down from the Indian Pond dam.
For many years he was part of a construction crew with his brother in law, Rainy Tremblay and Doug Gordon. Another partner was Blin Marcue. He worked in Quimby Vaneer Mill until it closed . He then worked as a private contractor delivering mail to Jackman from 1973 until his retirement. He was particularly proud of his perfect driving record of which he received public recognition.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, worked as a guide and spent a lot of time at his hunting camp with his buddies. He enjoyed passing his skills onto his children. His passion was the Red Sox defending his team against the Yankee fans. He spent many years coaching an adult softball team to numerous championships. He was a long time member of the Bingham Volunteer Fire Department. He was considered one of the most devoted basketball fans in town, rarely missing a game.
He was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Elaine, his brother Bill,and several close friends. He is survived by Rita, his wife of 53 years, his daughter, Carla and husband Stephen Small, Kenneth Jr., Eric Jacques and his wife Sierra, Jesse Jacques and wife, Mindy, and Timothy and his wife Meshell. His grandchildren are Alison Small, Logan Bolduc. Jeremy, Talon and Michele Jacques, Corey Jacques, Cody Jacques, Colin Brown, Savanah Wentzell, Cortney, Mariah and Bobby Langton, Brandon and Brittany Andrews plus many great grandchildren.

 


The family and friends will gather at Gibersons Funeral Home Bingham, Monday, December 5th from 3;00-5:00 PM. A service of remembrance will follow. Interment will be in the Bingham Village Cemetery in mid summer.
