Marcia Krebs, 80, of Starks, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 at her daughter's home in Starks, surrounded by her loving family.

Marcia was born in Stoneham, Massachusetts,on September 18, 1937, a daughter of Mark and Martha (Keller) Sumner. Marcia grew up in Randolph, Vermont where she attended several one room school houses where her mother taught. After high school she went on to earn a medical secretary degree.

She and her late husband Carleton Krebs, owned and operated Krebs Organic Dairy Farm in Starks. Marcia was a hard worker and enjoyed working everyday on the family farm, it brought her a great deal of pride. She loved Spring time and couldn't wait to be out mending the fences.

Marcia enjoyed reading, writing letters to friend and relatives, music, goats, her two sheep that she raised behind the house and loved so much, she was the only person they would allow to touch them. Some of her fondest memories were of her trips to Vermont to visit with family. She was an accomplished musician and played the piano, violin, lap harp and the accordion.

She was predeceased by both of her parents, her husband Carleton L. Krebs, who passed away on July 10, 2004, they were married 47 years. She was also predeceased by an infant daughter and her brother Herbert Sumner.

Marcia is survived by her children, David Krebs and his wife Billie Jo of Starks, Darlene Taylor and her husband Brandon also of Starks, Daniel Krebs and his wife Hiroko of Japan and Dennis Krebs and his wife Angelica of Starks.. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Roger, Mark, Thomas and Krysta Krebs, Daniel Taylor, Kimberly, Jonathan and Catherine Krebs.

Her family would like to thank Doctor Johanna Davis and Maine General Hospice , especially Catherine and Sarah for their kindness, care and compassion in providing care for Marcia .

Friends are asked to join the family for a time of visitation and remembrance on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at Giberson Funeral Home , 40 Maple Street, Madison. A funeral Service will follow visiting at 2:00 PM in the Funeral Home. Marcia will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Maine Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in the Spring, time and date to be announced.
