Mary Ann Lareau, 77, of Madison, formerly of Waltham, Massachusetts, passed away on June 19, 2017 at Maplecrest Rehabilitation and Living Center in Madison.

She was born in Springfield , Massachusetts on August 1, 1939. Mary attended Perkins School for the Blind form 1944 to 1960 then Boston University form 1960 to 1965, Majoring in Music and Mathematics. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree.

Mary was an active member of her community and the United Church of Christ in Brockton, Massachusetts She was an active alumni member at Perkins School, the Founder of Suburban West Chapter of National Federation of the Blind, serving on numerous committees, including the National Coalition for the Blind while living in Waltham. Mary was also active in the Coral Group at Trinity Church in Waltham.

She truly cared about her community, helping to start a neighborhood watch program, and formed a committee to get a neighborhood park that children and families still enjoy today.

Mary Ann Lareau, loving partner of Thomas Duffy Jr, mother of Ellen Hale and Dorothy Rogers, grandmother to Jenny- Lee, Ruth -Ann, Christy- Lea, George McLean III and Timothy Santos Lomba and great grandmother to five and a half great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Federated Church in Skowhegan. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Giberson Funeral Home, Madison.
