Patricia Jean Dubois Oliver, beloved mother of the Oliver family, went to be with our Lord on January 20th, 2017, at the age of 63.

Patricia was born Patricia Jean Dubois on May 15, 1953. Her father, Julien Charles Dubois, was born in Brassua, Maine and raised in Long Pond, Maine. Her mother, Anita Laurette Nicolas Mullen, was born in Canada and moved to Maine with her family. Patricia's birth certificate says that she was born in Jackman, Maine, but her mother, aunts and uncles say she was born in Canada. Patricia has one sibling, namely, Christina Ann Dubois Worster.

Patricia was raised in the Moose River Valley with a strong Franco American heritage. She and her family were and are very proud of their Native American blood, many being registered members of the Malecite tribe. She attended the schools of the Moose River Valley and graduated from Forest Hills Highschool in 1971.

Patricia worked for many years as a CNA. She further educated herself to become a Med. Tech., which job she performed at the Jackman Regional Health Center until her physical frailty forced her to retire.

Patricia married the love of her life, George Everett Oliver (of Industry, Maine), on May 19, 1972. Together they created, raised, and loved four sons; Clayton Everett Oliver, Travis Rey Oliver, Wade Julien Oliver, and Than Cody Oliver. They also raised Syerra Chevelle Oliver, their beloved granddaughter. Their love has created four sons, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, so far. Patricia and her family lost George Everett Oliver to illness when he was 58.

Finding words powerful enough to convey how this family feels towards their mother seems an impossibility. The Holy Scriptures declare in Proverbs 31 that a virtuous woman is hard to find and her price is far above rubies. America is full of many wonderful mothers and virtuous women and we wish to take a moment in Time to speak the praises of ours.

She liked 60's muisic, dancing, cooking, and exchanging recipes with loved ones. She loved babies and giving mountains of presents at Christmas. She liked breakfast best, often seriving it for lunch or supper. She liked playing pool, golf, and yelling "Bingo!" She loved holidays with her family but her children remember the times she felt concern for the lonely and invited them over, too.

She was the lover of a kind and gentle man, her husband. She was the best mother she could be, working hard to give life to four boys, (who know that they are the only four people in this world who could make Patty laugh that hard or swear that hard). She was the world's best mother-in-law because she contained the unique ability to accept people as they are. She was a doting grandmother, thrilled with every new life that came into her arms.

Patty was a woman known for speaking her mind and she often vocalized her anger towards the church she was raised in. In her younger years she felt that this anger meant she didn't believe in God. Patty wrestled with God for many years and He was able to finally show her Himself through the image of His Son, Jesus. Patty found faith in her last years and claimed Jesus as her Savior, making peace wih God.

Proverbs 31 says that when a woman is a virtuous woman...her children will rise up and called her "blessed." The children and grandchildren of Patricia Jean Dubois Oliver declare today that we were given a blessed mother. The loss is too great for words.

There will be a brunch served in Patty's honor on February 11 at 11:00 am at the American Legion in Jackman, Maine.  The Oliver family would love to see Patty's friends and family there.  If you have any pictures pertaining to Patty's life, we would love it if you brought them with you to share.  We lost many when the Oliver home burnt.
