Ronald “Clarky”. Clark, 85, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Redington Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan.

 

Ronald was born on September 2, 1932 in Waterville, a son of Harold D. and Phyllis B. (Davis) Clark. He was educated in the local schools. Following graduation, Ronald enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country.

 

Returning home from the service, he was employed at Pratt and Whitney in Connecticut for a few years, later Ronald returned to Maine and work in shoe manufacturing in the Norway area, He moved on to work at Bridgton Knitting Mill and then for the railroad in South Portland. Finally ending up working for Scott Paper for 19 years until his retirement.

 

 

Clarky loved fishing and riding the back roads, vacationing with his wife and he especially loved spending time with his granddaughter, Mindy, she was the apple of his eye.

 

Ronald was pre-deceased by both of his parents, a daughter, Kris Paine and a step son, Scott Kerr.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Clark of Madison, his five children, Sherry Sodergren of Hillsdale, Michigan, Jeff Clark of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kim Packard of Norway, Shelly Murch of Harrison and Lance Clark also of Harrison. Ronald also leaves behind four step children, Darla Farrell, Nancy Lovejoy, John Kerr and Lenny Kerr, a brother, Robert Clark of Vassallboro and a sister, Kathy Sjorgen of Florida.

 

Ron is also survived by many grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

 

A celebration of life will be held on April 7, 2018 at the American Legion, South Maple Street, Madison, from 12:00-4:00 PM . A Graveside will be held in the Spring . Arrangements are under the care and direction of Giberson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Madison.
