Ronald Everett Frazier, 83 of Madison, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday June 25, 2016 after a short illness.

Ron was born in Anson, November 8, 1932 to Clifford & Mildred (Jeffers) Frazier and was educated in Anson schools. He was a proud Veteran serving in the US Army from March 1953 to February 1955 and was stationed in Korea during the Korean Conflict.

After his honorable discharge from the Army, Ron was employed as a wood cutter mainly in the New Vineyard woods. After he left the rigorous work of the woods industry he went to work for Lawrence Atwood as a finish carpenter and then worked on his own doing the same type of work – He was incredibly skilled as a carpenter and highly sought after. In the late 1970’s he went to work for Cianbro while Madison Paper Industries was expanding their papermaking facilities. After his time with Cianbro he resumed his carpentry business until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife Rose Marie (Mazerolle) who he married on July 11, 1957; four children – Rhonda and her husband Richard Emerson of Durham, Ross and his partner Michelle Corson of Madison, Russell and his wife Andrea of Skowhegan and Ramona Hupper of Anson. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Justin Hupper of Anson and Jaclyn Frazier of Skowhegan, his brothers Richard of Madison and Percy of Industry, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters Matilda (Tillie) Buker, Gertrude Boynton, Josephine Douglas, Ruth Hovey and a brother Robert.

After retirement Ron enjoyed many activities – he especially enjoyed riding his ATV, snowmobiling, fishing and gardening. Trips to area casinos were also enjoyed by he and Rose for their birthdays and anniversary. He was also an avid race fan and spent many days supporting area race tracks including Unity, Speedway 95 and Oxford Plains Speedway. Ron was a long time member of the Moose Alley Riders ATV Club in Bingham and recently the club voted to name, in Ron’s honor, a section of their trail system that he faithfully maintained. Ron was very pleased with this honor.

Ron was a hardworking family man who passed on many wonderful traits to his kids. Over the years as we each bought our homes he was always there to lend a helping hand for the many little projects that we came up with. We are very fortunate to have his handiwork in our homes to remember him by.

The family would like to extend many thanks to Dr. Nadia Ramdin and the Oncology Department at Redington Fairview Hospital for the wonderful care they provided during his illness and also MaineGeneral Homecare & Hospice for their kindness and support the past few weeks. We were told Hospice was a Godsend and they really were!

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 2, 016 at Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple Street, Madison. A luncheon reception will immediately follow at the American Legion on South Maple Street in Madison. A private burial service will be at a later date at the Maine Veteran’s Cemetery in Augusta at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers Ron asked that donations be made to the Moose Alley Riders ATV Club for trail maintenance at PO Box 387, Bingham, Maine 04920.

Arrangements are under the care of Giberson Funeral Home in Madison.
