DORIS M. CALDWELL 1924-2018 Doris M. Caldwell, 94, of Anson, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, July 22, 2018 surrounded by her family at the home of her son Randy and his wife Holly. She was born June 26, 1924, in North Anson, the daughter of Wallace and Evelyn Moody. She graduated from Madison High School in 1943. Doris was a great homemaker, raising six children of her own, as well as many neighborhood children. This continued with grandchildren and great grandchildren, with much love and affection. Dottie loved every child, and every child loved her. She worked a number of years at Garrett-Schenck School in the cafeteria helping feed many children and this continued in her own kitchen known as “Dotties Diner”. She enjoyed Saturday night dancing, loved music, playing the organ, Wednesday morning womens bowling league and she loved her Celtics! What she enjoyed the most was gathering and sharing her camp with family and friends. Doris was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Everett, son Daniel, sisters Ruth, Jeannette, Esther and Betty. She is survived by son Francis and wife Phyllis of Waldoboro, daughter Gloria Berry and husband Dana of Madison, sons Larry and wife Diana of Madison, Rick and wife Lisa of Solon and Randy and wife Holly of Embden. She also is survived by many grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to hospice nurse Norma for her exceptional care and compassion. Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 Friday July 27 at Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St, Madison. A 2:00 graveside service will be held Saturday July 28 at Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Maine General Hospice, PO Box 828, Waterville, ME 04903.
