Elizabeth (Moody) Peterson, 91,o f Anson, went home with with our Lord on the early morning hours of August 16, 2017 at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home in Skowhegan.

 

She was born on August 30, 1925 in North Anson, a daughter of Wallace and Evelyn (Cushing) Moody.

 

Elizabeth was employed as the book keeper at MJ Dyer and Sons for many years an d later she was an executive secretary at Redington Hospital.

 

She was devoted to her church, Christ Community Fellowship Church, formerly known as The United Baptist Church in Madison. She volunteered her time as much as possible, preparing luncheons, working the Sunday School programs for children, Elizabeth would gather the neighborhood children and bring them to Sunday School and for those who went to church with her, they would receive an ice cream when they got back to her home.

 

Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents Wallace and Evelyn Moody, her husband Carl Peterson, a son, Gary Peterson three sisters, Esther Moody, Ruth Paine and Jeannette Waugh, a grandson, Matthew Meader and a granddaughter, Tori Whittemore and her unborn child.

 

Betty is survived by Her children, Corrine Lessore and her husband Don of Skowhegan, Barbara Meader of Lewiston and (Charles) Pete Peterson and his wife Jody of Madison.

 

 

She is also survived by a sister, Doris Caldwell of Embden, her grandchildren, Edward Lessore, Daphne Turcotte, Sherry Dickey, Dawn Marie Lessore, William Meader IV, Cory Peterson, Jana Peterson and Shelly Wehry, 21 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

 

Friends are asked to join the family for a time of visitation on Sunday , August 20, 2017 from 3:00-4:00 PM at Christ Community Fellowship Church. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM . Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery , Park Street, Madison.

 

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Giberson Funeral Home, Madison.
