Graldine Louise Giguere,88, of Bingham passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Somerset Rehabilitation and Living Center in Bingham.
She was born on April 24, 1930 in Bingham, a daughter of Leroy Cates Sr. and Helen Hawes Cates. She attended local schools and graduated from Valley High School, Class of 1948. She went on to marry the love of her life Everette Giguere. They had three children that were her pride and joy. She was employed at Quimby Veneer Mill in Bingham for many years and the Solon Thrift Shop for 10 years.
Geraldine was always very active in the community, she was a member of the American Legion and the Ladies Auxillery district 4, for almost 60 years, 30 of those years she served as Chaplin as well as President from 1976-1977. She enjoyed square dancing with her husband Everette. She loved spending time with her family. They gave her much joy.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, her brother Leroy Cates Jr. and her sister Carolyn Hanscome.
Geraldine is survived by her children, Ervin Giguere and his wife Linda, Stanley Giguere and his wife Retta and Roberta “Giguere” Davis and her husband Vance. Six Grandchildren, Melanie Bartlett and her husband George, Vance A. Davis II and his wife Jodie, Tabatha Ryan and her husband John, Edward Giguere, Mathew Giguere and Ashley Giguere and her partner Ronald Spelman. 10 great grandchildren and her siblings Alene Huggins, Joyce Atwood, Bruce Cates and Brenda Buzzell.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, October 19, 2018 from 4 to 7pm at Giberson Funeral Home 18 Rriver Street Bingham, Maine. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 1pm in Union Cemetery Moscow, Maine.
