Helen Delucia Obituary

Helen J. Delucia, 84, of Long Pond, TWP, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on February 14, 1934 in Eastford, Connecticut the only child of Frank K. Bent and Helen T. “Conney” Bent.

Helen would often tell a fond memory she had of riding her horse up Pudding Hill to school in Vermont. She went on to work as a school bus driver in Branford, Connecticut . She married her first husband Paul Stevens in Branford, Connecticut. They raised a son together, their only child until his passing in 1950. Helen didn't let this devastating loss keep her from giving her son the best life she could give him. She re-entered the work force at a paper manufacturing company as a machine operator. She later married Michael Delucia who passed away in the early 1980's. In 2006 the whole family moved to Maine where Helen lived out her golden years.

She was a proud mother that loved her son with all she had. Family meant everything to her. She loved collecting salt and pepper shakers. She had over 2,000 sets in her collection. She was outspoken and boisterous but in a loving kind way. Helen got along with everyone and loved to tell jokes and make everyone laugh. She knew all the old sayings and used them on many occasions, always getting a chuckle from her loved ones.

Helen is predeceased by her parent, her first husband Paul Stevens and her second husband Michael Delucia.

She is survived by her loving son Robert Stevens and his wife Janet, her grandchildren Tammie, Melissa, Amanda and Paul, her great-grandchildren Mia, Ryder, Brian, Layla and the twins Jackson and Caiden, her life long friend from her school bus driving days in Connecticut Carol Knowlton of New York. Helen will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
