Mary Elizabeth Dawes, November 7, 1936-December 20, 2018

Mary Elizabeth (Beane) Dawes, 82, of Anson, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.

She was born in Anson, Maine the daughter of Richard Beane of Anson and Muriel "Higgins" Carrigan of Madison. She attended local schools and Mary went on to be a bookkeeper for International Paper, Libby Lumber, Brochu's Logging and Solon Manufacturing.

She enjoyed writing her life story, She played the piano, organ and guitar and when she was no longer able to play them, she enjoyed listening to gospel music on her computer. Mary was a member of the Madison Baptist Church for 50 plus years, her sustaining faith and Savior were very important to her and she very much looked forward to the day when she would walk again.

Mary is survived by her lovingly devoted husband of 63 years, Kenneth Dawes, her daughter Susan (Dawes) Fickett of Norridgewock and her husband Ronald, her son Craig and his wife Dianne of Sidney, her son Rick and his husband Jack of Auburn, her sisters Ruby of Powhatan, Virginia and Laurie of Roanoke, Virginia. Her grandchildren Liza, Hilary, Andrea, Carrie, Joshua, Sarah, Jonathan, Christopher and Matthew, ten great grandchildren and a special nephew, Lawrence Dawes of Jackman.

She was predeceased by a son Andy.

Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Cedar Ridge Nursing Home staff for their excellent and loving care and for the personal relationship they formed with Mary.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 10:00am in Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison, Maine.
