Barbara Anne Lettieri Luce passed away on July 10, 2020, at Reddington Hospital after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to Robert and Ann Lettieri on September 25, 1948. Barbara married Dale Luce in 1978 at the Winter's Inn in Kingfield, Maine. Together they had two children.
Barbara was the type of person who would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She loved comforting her friends and neighbors. One of her fondest memories was sailing to St. Lucia offering protection to the men of color on the ship. Later, she found her way to Kingfield Maine where she worked at the Winter’s Inn as a chef. Barbara was a regional Tupperware salesperson for many years.
Barbara and Dale moved to Starks Maine in 1978 where they started their family. She could be found gardening, reading, listening to music and hosting friends. She and Dale raised pure bred golden retrievers for many years. She was also a lover of cats. Barbara worked at the Madison Library for years. She was also a Girl Scout leader for 13 years.
She is predeceased by her father Robert P. Lettieri of Queens, New York.
Barbara is survived by her husband Dale, her daughter Alexandra of Biddeford, Maine, her daughter Danielle Eggleston and husband Lester of Malden, Massachusetts, her grandson Taye, mother Anne Lettieri, of Queens, New York, brother Robert P. Lettieri Jr. and Margaret of Queens, New York, sister Elaine Luce and husband Arnold of Anson, Maine, and brother Christopher Lettieri of Queens, New York. Along with many nieces and nephews.
