Bethany Melcher, 42, of Bingham passed away on Fiday, March 13, 2020 in Augusta, Maine after a brief illness.
Bethany was born in Skowhegan on May 25, 1977 the daughter of Edmund and Carolyn (Shaw) Melcher. She was educated in the local schools and attended job core in Bangor. Beth also went to college at University of Maine at Presque Isle.
Beth loved the outdoors and being at the Wyman lake boat landing. She was excellent at skiing and spent hundreds of hours at Baker Mountain in Moscow.
Bethany Melcher was a smile and a laugh. She was the spark and could be the flame. Beth was small in stature, but a giant with regards to heart. She was the light that burned bright until that light burned out.
She was predeceased by her mother Carolyn (Shaw) Melcher and beloved uncle Michael Melcher. Beth had just recently lost her grandfather Harry Melcher on Sunday, January 19, 2020 and a time past, her grandmother Jeanette Melcher, both of whom had raised her since she was 4 years old.
Bethany is survived by her father Edmund Melcher and step mother Frederica Melcher. Her brother Andrew Melcher and his wife Christine Melcher and her nephews Nathan and Noah Melcher. Her brother Jonathan Scanlin and his wife Christina Scanlin and her nephew's Damion and Jacob Scanlin, Her Aunt Janet and Uncle Danny Melcher and her cousins Erin and Lucas Melcher, her Aunt Susan and cousins Matt and Megan. As well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins and their children. Bethany also had a very special extended family. A mother in Carla Small and sisters in Gemma D'Ambruoso and Shotgun Sheila Mills. She is also survived by hundreds of friends that she considered family. Bethany touched the heart of everyone she knew, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at the Legion hall on Meadow Street in Bingham, Maine from 6 pm -12 am, on May 25th, after the Memorial day activities. The theme will be (Full Circle), Beths birthday to her life day exactly 43 years to the day. BYOB, and send Beth off with a live rock band. Bring pictures, memories and condolences. Donations would be accepted towards the cost of her services and anything left over will go to the Bingham food pantry.
