North New Portland: On Sunday, June 21, 2026, Candy Browne passed away peacefully at her home after a long illness, with her husband Tony Browne by her side. Candy was born on May 13, 1963 in Skowhegan, Maine.

She is survived by her husband Tony Browne.
Her children: Joann (Luke) Goodine of Sebring, Florida, James (Emily) Scraggs of Madison, Maine, Wilfred Bouffard-Scraggs of North New Portland, Maine, Sarah Bouffard-Scraggs and fiancé Terry Tibbetts of Madison, Maine and Chase Frappier of North Anson, Maine.

Her siblings: Pam (Philip) Wells of Port Charlotte, Florida, Everett Haley of Trazeysburg, Ohio, Ruth (Mike) McFarland of Townsend, Mass, Linda Haley of North Port, Florida, Kim Nibby of Skowhegan, Maine, Kevin Goodridge of Gardiner, Maine, and her brother-in-law Dana Pollis of Madison, Maine.

Her grandchildren: Makayla (Bill Jr.), Nikita (Nash), Jacob, Jordyn, Blake (Emily), Bryce and her bonus grandchildren Valerie and Dominick.
Her great-grandchildren: Little Bill, Laylea, Harmony, Harold and Beckham.
She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is survived by lifelong friends, including but not limited to, Linda Parlin, Joyce Kovac-Lang, Donald Wright, Tracy Tracy, Idell Sheehan (AKA Pickles), and Pauline Allain.
She is pre-deceased by her parents Marjorie and Oren Goodridge, grandparents Howard and Florance Goodridge, her sister Jackie Pollis, her brother John Haley and her niece Tammy (Haley) Reed.

Candy worked at Renys in Madison for many years and was always a familiar face around town. She also worked at CC Tax Prep in Madison as a bookkeeper and was a treasurer at the New Portland Library for several years as well.

Candy was a woman of many talents full of passion and creativity. She enjoyed crafting, attending craft sales, going to thrift stores, and Christmas shopping for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She loved spending time with her family no matter what they were doing. Time was the most important thing to her. In the fall she would often help her husband Tony with dressing the deer he would have gotten that year. In the spring she loved going on girls weekend with all the females in her family. In the summer she enjoyed gathering with family out at camp. In the winter she snuggled by the woodstove to work on crafts because she was always cold. She also enjoyed her Friday night card nights that they had for many, many years.

Candy was not your average woman. She was strong, bold, loving and always knew what she wanted when she wanted it. She was a force of nature. She was an all-season woman ready and willing for whatever adventure came her way. She is very loved and will be forever missed!
There will be a celebration of life on Friday, July 3rd at 4 p.m. at the VFW in Madison. The burial will be private. Thank you.
