Following graduation she worked at the Farmington Shoe Shop for the summer. Then September came and she attended Skowhegan Business School. In 1971 Cheryl graduated with her associates degree in higher administration management. Cheryl spent 17 years as a waitress at the 3 G’s restaurant in Skowhegan and then 10 years at Solon Manufacturing Company. Later she spent time working for MCD caring for developmentally disabled adults. Throughout these years she met many people that she genuinely cared for and formed lifelong friendships.
Cheryl was a past worthy advisor for Rainbow for Girls in Phillips, Maine.
She accepted the Lord into her heart in April of 1960 at the United Methodist Church the church she had attended since she was 4 years old. Here, she sang in the choir, played the piano and occasionally played for the church on Sunday morning. She also helped with the Youth Group and Sunday School.
Cheryl joined the United Baptist Church in Madison in 1984. She was also a member and secretary for the Lizzy – Moore Philanthea Class.
Cheryl really enjoyed going to her Aunt Elsie’s camp at Big Boyd Lake, nights out at the Casino with her daughter Jen. Her heart was filled with joy when her and her grandchildren went to Six Flags. She loved playing bingo, yard sales and shopping with her daughters. She missed the old neighborhood days or Nana and Bumpy and all of the laughter they shared with her and her girls and how they made them feel like family.
Survivors include her daughters Jennifer Goff and Jessica Crispin, her four grandchildren Cameron and Brandon Schmidt, Jaithon and Brilynn Crispin, her great-grandchildren Parker and Dahlia Crispin, as well several cousins, her special girl, Nikki Quimby, whom she held dear to her heart. Her special friends that held her dear to their heart and forever will.
Cheryl treasured all of the moments with her family and friends whether near or far. She devoted her life to her daughters and their families and provided every possible thing for them that she could. She loved peanut butter fudge, Reese's peanut butter cups, cheese puffs and last but not least, she loved Maine. Cheryl missed living in Madison for years. Now that she’s back in town she will rest in peace. She’s home where she wanted to be. Her family and friends were her life.
