Anson,
Chester E. Flanagin, 86, of Anson, passed away on November 2, 2024 after a year long battle with heart failure with his family at his side.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Elaine Flanagin. His daughters Lisa Ward and Shelley Flanagin and her significant other Andy Agren. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Ryan Ward, Randa Campbell, Chelsey Bostick, Casey Hersom, his great grandchildren, Kallie Thomas, Kale Mack, Andi Wentworth, Benjamin Rackcliff, Sammy Hersom and great great grandson, Westyn Walker.
Chet was best remembered for opening the first bottle redemption center in the state and for his love of training hunting dogs.He partnered with friend Mike Wing and raised and trained too many dogs to count. There are a number of other hunting and dog friends, some with us and some with him that he told many stories about.
There will be a service for those who wish to attend on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Giberson Funeral Home in Madison.
This final gathering will be officiated by Carroll and Lila Ware.
Casual attire and a sense of humor are all we are requesting. We welcome anyone who has a story to share to do just that.
