Clyde Orlando Merrill
, On the peaceful morning of April 20, 2025 at the age of 91, Clyde Orlando Merrill stepped quietly through the gates of heaven to meet his Savior face to face. Clyde was born in Dallas Plantation to Merle and Esther Merrill. The family moved several times before settling in Concord where he met his high school sweetheart whom he was married to for 54 years. When Clyde was 17, he joined the navy and served his country for 4 years. After he was honorably discharged, Clyde returned to Concord where he and his wife started their family, and eventually became foster parents. Clyde and his wife fostered 45 Children and adopted the final two children they had living in their home. Clyde also helped build Trinity Baptist Church in Moscow where he attended and served for many years. In later years, he drove a bus for Adventure Bound before retiring in 2002. For the last 10 years he was a member of Grace Bible Church where he loved attending with old and new friends alike. He was an avid student of the Bible and spent many hours studying God’s word and writing in many notebooks the things he learned. Clyde was predeceased by his wife (Loreda) Audrey (Bigelow) Merrill; his brothers Horace and Clarence; his sister Lillian; and his son “Chip”. He is survived by his daughters Loreda and Stella, his son Phillip, Grand-daughter Brittanie and her husband John Levesque; Grand-sons Brett and his wife Heather Leeman, Nathan and his wife Olivia Leeman and Elijah, and great-grand-daughters, Bodhi and Dani Levesque, great-grand-daughter Ashlynn Merrill; sisters Eva and Mabel, brothers Carl and Frank, several nieces and nephews as well as a good many friends. A celebration of Clyde’s life will take place at Grace Bible Church of Oakland located at 333 Oak Street in Oakland Maine on May 17, 2025 at 11:00 and officiated by Pastor Donald Niles. A time of fellowship will follow immediately after the services in the church fellowship hall.
