Colby Hartley Obituary

Colby Hartley
November 12, 1976 – August 8, 2025
Colby Hartley, 48, of Skowhegan, Maine, passed away on
August 8, 2025. Born on November 12, 1976, in
Skowhegan, he was the beloved son of the late Steven
Hartley and Kathleen Wilson Hartley.
Colby attended Carrabec High School, Class of 1994, and
went on to build a life defined by hard work, skill, and
dedication. He spent over a decade working at Pike before
following his passion and starting his own business,
where he could work on anything with a motor. Known as
a true “jack of all trades,” Colby had a gift for tinkering
and fixing, often lending his talents to help family and
friends.
He loved spending weekends up to camp, enjoying the
peace of the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were among
his favorite pastimes, and he was especially proud the day
his son Wade shot his first deer. Many afternoons, Colby
could be found relaxing in his hammock, taking in the
fresh Maine air. He was also always by his daughter
Sara’s side at every horse show, offering his support and
encouragement from start to finish.
Above all, his greatest joy was spending time with his
children and grandchildren, who were the pride of his life.
He is survived by his son, Wade Hartley, and his partner,
Chelsea Coombs, and their children Wyatt, Wren, and
Willow; his daughter, Sara Hartley, and her partner, Kyle
Bernier, and their children Harper and their soon-to-arrive
baby boy; his daughter, Kaylee Bowman, and her
husband, Adam Bowman, and their children Gracelynn
and Silas. He also leaves behind his brothers, Kevin
Hartley and Brian Hartley, along with many nieces and
nephews.
Colby was predeceased by his parents, Steven and
Kathleen Hartley, and his brother, Glenn Hartley.
Colby will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his
love for his family, and his talent for fixing just about
anything. His presence, laughter, and helping hands will
be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September
28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Poulin Turner Union Hall,
