Dana E. Burns, 75, of Anson, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024, surrounded by his family. Dana was born on June 25, 1948, in Skowhegan, the beloved son of Russell and Violet (Price) Burns. Throughout his life, Dana touched many hearts, attending Anson, Madison, and Glen Cove schools and leaving a lasting impact in various roles, from logging to construction and working at the Anson Stick Mill.
Dana's warm-hearted nature and sense of humor endeared him to family and friends, often being a jokester. He found immense joy in family gatherings and was known for his love of riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, and camping.
Dana is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Violet Burns, Grandchildren Dana-Lyn and Jordan Cummings, sister-in-law Kelley Barnes, nephew Russell Burns III, and in-laws Kenneth and Jane Gallant, and Linnie Gallant.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Susan Burns and their children Dusty-Lyn and Danny Burns. Dana's Legacy lives on through grandchildren Jason and Amanda Cummings, Justin Cummings, Danny and Sam Burns, Seth Burns and companion Kassandra, Brother Russ Burns and wife Joanne. And five great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law's Becky Lyon's and Rick, Roberta Berry and Ed, Kelley Rodgers. Brother-in-laws Mark Barnes and wife Theresa, Robert Gallant and wife Lisa, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Megan and Lynn from Beacon Hospice and extends heartfelt thanks to relatives and friends for their love and support. There will be no visiting hours. A Graveside service will be held in the spring at Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison, with date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be to made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in his honor.
