Denise Harmon Kolreg
Denise Harmon Kolreg, 56, of Fairfield, passed away at home after a valiant, brave battle with cancer, Denise lost the fight on January 14, 2026.
Denise was born in Jackman, Maine, on January 11, 1970, daughter of the late James and Dorothy Harmon. She was one of the last babies to be born at the Marie Joseph Hospital, in Jackman. Denise spent her early years in Jackman, graduating from Forest Hills School in 1988. Upon graduating, she continued her education to become a licensed hairdresser, moving to the Waterville, Maine area.
Denise dedicated her life to her family. There was nothing she would not do for them or others in a time of need. Upon becoming a single mom, Denise pursued her education at KVCC. She earned an Associate degree in Business. She worked the last 25 years for the Maine Municipal Association. While there, she had many colleagues that became close friends. She considered them her “second family”. Denise is forever grateful for all MMA did for her during her courageous battle with her illness.
Her dog, Gracie Ann, was her beloved companion and by her side at all times.
Denise is survived by a son, Keith Kolreg and wife Kortnie, a daughter, Erica Kolreg and three grandchildren, Benjamin Kolreg, Ava Martin and Connor Martin. She is also survived by her brother, Dennis Harmon and wife, Michelle, stepdaughter, Elaine Harrison and family. A special thank you to Elaine, otherwise known as her “Ride or Die partner”! She will be missed by many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Denise was forever indebted to all that helped her through this journey, especially, her son, Keith, who became her caregiver. A special thank you to her hometown community of Jackman, for their generosity.
There will be an internment and memorial service in Jackman this spring.
