JACKMAN - Dennis A. Trahan, 80, passed away September 4, 2023 with family at his side at Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Dennis was born in Skowhegan, Maine on 28 February 1943 to Lucien and Eda Carol (Holden) Trahan. Following the death of his mother from complications in childbirth, Dennis was raised by his paternal grandmother the late Evelyn Trahan. Dennis graduated from Jackman High School in 1962. Dennis was a lifelong resident of Jackman and an avid sportsman enjoying hunting and fishing. Dennis worked for many years as a meat cutter for the A&P grocery stores in Jackman and Greenville,
Maine until the stores closures. Following employment with the A&P he began a second career as head of janitorial services at Forest Hills School (SAD 12) until his retirement in 2008. Dennis also served honorably in the Maine Army National Guard. Dennis married Norma Pease on November 14, 1964 and they made their home on the lakeshore in Jackman.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents, a daughter Audrey Trahan and a sister Patricia Lindsay.
He is survived y his wife Norma (Pease) Trahan, his daughter Carey Anne Lessard and her husband Tim, his grandson Remington Lessard, his granddaughter Paxton Baillargeon and her husband Ryan, and a very special great grandson, Attean Baillargeon.
He is survived by his brother William and his wife Marilyn, a sister Jeanne Douglas, a brother-in-law Paul Pease and a sister-in-law Carleen Musick and her husband John, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
There will be graveside service at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Jackman, Maine at 11 AM on September 23, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be considered to the American Cancer Society.
