Harley Orr Sr., 95, of Moscow, passed away on December 20, 2021 at Mount Saint Joseph in Waterville.

 

Harley was born on January 9, 1926 in Haynesville, Maine, a son of Frank and Angeline (Cronk) Orr. He was educated in the local schools, following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army, proudly serving his country in WWII. He was a paratrooper with a mortar crew and was dropped behind enemy lines in Italy, France, and Germany.

 

He was employed as a millwright with S.D Warren, Quimby Veneer Mill and North Anson Reel.

In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching horse pulling at the fair, doing crosswords puzzles and watching golf on television, although he never played the game. He especially looked forward to playing poker on Friday nights with his buddies.

 

Harley was predeceased by his mother Angeline, step father Clyde Cunningham, by his beloved wife Pauline, sisters, Arlene Fortin and Nadine Vigue and a granddaughter Chelsi Adams.

 

He is survived by his children, Harley “Skip” Orr Jr. and his wife Beth, Christine Pellegrini and her husband Mark, Juanita Bean and her partner David Radtke, Karen Adams and Nathan Orr and his partner Kim Moody. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, a sister , Mona Gardner, in laws, Norman Dionne, and James and Faylene Dionne, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Harley's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to his niece Julie Mayhew and her husband Alden, as well as his close friends Brian and Lee Barter. Your kindness, generosity and support during the last several years have been greatly appreciated.

 

A graveside service will be held in the spring at Bingham Village Cemetery.
