Obituary

Jackman,

Jeannine Irene Vienneau Pinette, 89, a lifelong resident of Jackman, Maine, passed away peacefully on May 13th with her daughter by her side.

She was born to Edmond and Adrienne Vienneau on 2/16/34 in Mackamp, a township with only two houses along the railroad tracks near Long Pond. Her Uncle Lucien living across from her family home.

When she was 8 her family moved to Holeb, a lumber mill township 25 miles in the woods along the railroad tracks. A very rustic up bringing, water was carried from the pumphouse, the cook stove operated by wood, ice was sold by blocks in sawdust, and a trip to Jackman was necessary for groceries.

Jeannine travelled by train to Jackman to attend the convent, boarding with Mrs. Elise Poulin for several years. After graduating she travelled weekly to Greenville waitressing at Wilson’s Sporting Camps until she married Chester. She worked for Chester’s mother, Florette, at her restaurant The Arnold in Jackman as a waitress. She was a full-time mother of two, Kurt and Lisa. Later in life she became an Avon representative for 20+ years, she loved all her clients and enjoyed the relationships she developed along the way.

Jeannine was also an outdoorswoman enjoying all natures gifts. Hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, downhill skiing and ice fishing.

Jeannine had many generous passions; a member of the Daughters of Isabelle, American Legion Axillary, Ladies of St Anne, Newborns in Need and the Community of the Resurrection in Casco, Maine. She loved her flower gardens, knitting, children and her pets.

She was fortunate to be well cared for by the staff at Sedgewood Commons in Falmouth, Maine. Especially loved by her CNA, Angela, a personal friend of her daughters. Angela cared for Jeannine and the other residents like family, a very special and rare quality!

Pre-deceased by her son, Kurt and husband Chester, sister Louise, brothers Leon and Paul. She is survived by her daughter Lisa and fiancé Rick Storey, brother and sister-in-law Kerry and Eleanor Pinette, sister-in-law Charlene Vienneau and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Giberson Funeral Home, Madison, Maine. A mass will be held at St. Fostina’s church, Jackman, Maine, at 11:00 on Friday, May 19th.
