John W. Kenney, 60, of Madison passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 3, 2023. He was born on November 17, 1962 in Lawrence, Massachusetts the son of Margret and Edmund Kenney.

 

John graduated from Madison Memorial High School, his love and interest of automobiles lead him to long career in the auto business. For the past 20 plus years being the manager at O'Reillys Auto Parts.

 

John proudly began his brother-ship in the Masons under the tutelage of his uncle, Emil Kenney, John reached the level of Third Degree Mason of which he was very proud. John was Past Master several times , he was very active with Masonic events throughout the community, and he took pride in the Mason's Hot Dog Stand he tended to many summer’s at the New Portland Fair.

 

He was very kind and easy going, and always found a way to see the good in everyone. He was definitely a people person John was a diehard patriots fan, and he loved spending time at camps on Embden and Kingsbury Ponds where he enjoyed fishing and hunting and being with family.

 

John is survived by his brother Tim and his favorite sister in-law, Laurie, of Florida, his sister Kristy Schlageter and her husband Carl of Tennessee, and his brother William Kenney also of Tennessee. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, many cousins especially those that lived close to him as well as lots of friends.

 

He is predeceased by Thomas Kenney, several cousins and one of his greatest mentors Uncle Emil.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Euclid Masonic Hall # 194 C/O James Owens 567 Main Street Madison, Maine 04950


A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 12:00 noon at the Euclid Masonic Hall 13 Maxim Street Madison. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Park Street Madison .
