June Ann Giroux
April 4, 1938 – September 5, 2026
With heavy hearts, we share that June Ann Giroux passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
June Ann was born in Skowhegan on April 4, 1938, the daughter of the late Peggy and Clayton Stevens Sr.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford Giroux Sr.; her brothers, Clayton “Sonny” Stevens Jr. and Ernest “Buddy” Stevens; and her sister, Dianne McCollor.
For many years, June Ann was affectionately known as “the lunch lady” at Solon Elementary School. It was well known that she could be counted on to slip a child an extra portion or two. Many of those children now have families of their own and still fondly remember her and those days.
June Ann loved doing crossword puzzles, tending to her flowers, watching the hummingbirds, and spending time with her cats, George and Charlie.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda and husband Dan; her three sons, Clifford and wife Julie, Andrew and wife Kathy, and Darren and wife Darlene; as well as many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Special Care Unit at Redington-Fairview General Hospital, with heartfelt appreciation to the doctors and nurses who went above and beyond in the compassionate, professional, and respectful care they provided to our mom.
Arrangements are under the direction of Giberson Funeral Home in Madison, Maine.
Family and friends will gather at Evergreen Cemetery on River Road in Solon on Saturday, September 12, at 1:00 p.m., when June Ann will be reunited with her husband.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society in June Ann’s memory.
