Leland Moore Obituary

     Leland George Moore, 60 of Madison passed away September 27, 2024. Born on February 22, 1964, to Maxell and Jeannine Moore. Leland spend his life in Madison, where he was known and loved by many.

 

     Affectionately known as “Stack”, “Uncle”, and “Grampie,”

     Leland held many titles that reflected his close connections with family and friends. He was a passionate Dirt Track Racer, competing for many years while building strong bonds within the racing community. His love for the sport brought him great joy throughout his life. When he walked in the door, you would be addressed by Leland’s fun and playful nickname he had for you. Another favorite pastime was playing cards with many friends and family.

 

     Leland most recently was employed as a tractor-trailer truck driver, hauling wood for EJ Carrier. His strong work ethic and dedication were evident in all that he did, both on the road and off.

 

     He is survived by his wife Gail; Son Justin (Rocio) Hibbard. The apple of his eye being his Granddaughter Jasmine Hibbard. Bandit his garage buddy. He is further survived by stepmother Robin Moore, brother Larry (Deana) Moore, brother Leonard (Karen) Moore, sister Liane (Wayne) Whalen, sister Laura (Jeff) Lancaster, brother Jason (Naomi) Bean, sister Meredith Moore, brother Matt Moore, sister in law Linda Cates, sister in law Janice (Vern) Lutgen. He was preceded in death by his brother Lonnie (Marian) Moore, brother in law Gerald Hibbard, mother in law Geraldine Damren, parents Mackie & Jeannine Moore. Grand-dog Bandi. He was also survived by his Uncle Jim (Joyce) Begin, Uncle Louis (Pam) Begin, Uncle Norman (Melissa), Aunt Yvonne & Terry. He will be fondly remembered by Cousin Brenda (Randall) Mayer. Leland was further survived by many nieces and nephews who each have their own nickname from their loving Uncle.

 

     Like Grandpa, like Granddaughter, Jasmine had a few playful nicknames for him, “Taco” and “Chicken noodle soup” were a her favorites. Taco, we had amazing times , funny moments and stories shared. Love you always, your Papoose.

 

     A celebration of life will be held at  the VFW, 58 Preble Ave. Madison, at 2PM on Saturday, June 21st.  His committal will be at the Athearn Cemetery, 115 Starks Road, Anson at 3PM on June 23rd.
