It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and dear friend. Lewis G. Randall Jr. 78, of Anson left this world on March 9, 2024, at the age of 78. He peacefully passed away surrounded by family and friends.
Lewis was born in Providence, Rhode Island on December 11, 1945, the son of Lewis G. Randall Sr. and Hazel (Doe) Randall.
Lewis held many titles in his life and was certainly a jack-of-all-trades. In his teenage years, he worked at a fish market in Chatham, Massachusetts, and at the age of 18, began trucking fish to Boston every day. He managed an asphalt plant, later owning his own construction business and when he moved to Maine in 1989, he became a truck driver for the remainder of his career retiring in 2008.
Throughout Lewis’s life, his passions belonged to the outdoors, fishing, birdwatching, woodworking, and driving his 1952 Farmall tractor around his property. He loved music of many genres and danced like there was no tomorrow. However, his greatest pride and joy was his family. A hard-working man who provided for his family. He was a friend, a role model, a man who didn’t take life too seriously but never shied away from a hard day’s work.
Lewis was predeceased by his parents Lewis and Hazel; and sister Jean.
Lewis will be eternally remembered by his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara; brother Robert, daughters Adine (Robert); Audrey; and Amanda (John); grandson Robert Jr; granddaughter Crystal (Jose); great-grandchildren Alfredo, Brian, Emily, Barbara, and Lewis; grandson Ryan (Brenna); great-granddaughters Caroline and Delilah; granddaughter Mercedes (Glenn); step-great-grandson Eric and great-grandsons Lawrence and Jacob; granddaughter Cynthia; great-grandson Adrien; granddaughter Kaitlynn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lewis G. Randall Jr’s final resting location will be at his beloved home, 79 Wynding Way in Anson, where a celebration of life will be held June 22, 2024, @ 1:00 pm for all who wish to pay their respects.
“Seeing death as the end of life is like seeing the horizon as the end of the ocean.”
