Madison
On November 8, 2018 the heart of our family, Linda Lee Vigue, went to join the Lord, after a long illness. Born in Skowhegan, on October 19, 1948, Linda was the daughter of the late Ellra “Hook” and Patricia Andrews. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Madison High School. As an eighth grader, she met the love of her life, Roger P. Vigue. Their first date took place at the movies where they held hands. That night was the start of a lifetime of love, fun and family. Their courtship continued through high school and Roger and Linda were married on February 3, 1968 in the Catholic Church in Madison. They lived in Madison where they raised their family.
Linda was the strongest woman we know, she was kind, gentle, loving, and would do anything for anyone. Over the years, she enjoyed hunting, going fishing at their camp at East Carry Pond, and outings with her siblings at Cathedral Pines and Happy Horseshoe Campground. Linda was so proud to watch and support her children and grandchildren at their sporting events and all of their accomplishments. She loved to cook and would spend her days baking and delivering to friends and family. She was an outstanding cook and was well known for her whoopie pies. Linda spent many Saturdays shopping with her daughter, Holly. Linda enjoyed shopping for others as well as herself. She always looked forward to time spent with family and getting together with close friends. Some of Linda's fondest memories were spending the day with her granddaughters, coloring and teaching them to bake and make rice krispie squares. She also loved to surprise her grandson with his favorite warm snack when he would get off the school bus and run to her house. Her three grandchildren meant the world to her and she would light up when hearing their names. She was always so proud of them.
Linda was a past member of American Legion Post 39 Auxiliary, and a current member of VFW Post 7865 Auxiliary.
She was predeceased by her mother, Patricia Flanigan Andrews, her father Ellra “Hook” Andrews and her step father Ted Fernald.
Linda leaves behind her loving husband of 50 years, Roger Vigue of Madison; children Holly Eggleston and husband Scott of Madison, and Jeremy Vigue and wife Kim of Oakland. She was the loving grandmother of Matthew Soucy and significant other Sierra Murray of Eddington, and Julia and Kaitlyn Vigue of Oakland. She is also survived by her brother Larry Andrews and wife Linda Jo Andrews of Madison, sister Glenna Blazic and husband Skip of North Anson, sister Sheila Hardy and husband Bruce of Norridgewock and sister Cathy Hinman and husband Richard of Embden, many nieces, nephews and special friends.
She will be missed more than words can say. Rest in Peace Mom. We love you always.
