Louis D. Gagne, 82, of Poland, died July 7, in Jackman, Maine.
Loved by all who knew him, Louis was born in Poland, August 13, 1940, the son of Fred and Mabel McKay Gagne. He attended Mechanic Falls High School, then served in the Army as a SP4 Armored Crewman. Retired as a Maintenance Engineer, he also worked as a Layout Engineer and Surveyor throughout his life. He had a tremendous work ethic, which he instilled in all of his children. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, motorcycles and hot rod cars.
Survivors include 5 daughters, Vicki Stover, Cindi Tappe, Tammi Perry, Wendi Young, and Kristi Kron; and a son, Peter Gagne; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sylvia Jackson; and his partner of 33 years, Christine Billings.
Predeceased by his wife of 32 years and mother of his children, Carole Hall Gagne; a son, Russell; 4 brothers, Frederick, Edwin, Robert, and Donald; and 3 sisters, Helene Keene, Eleanor Jordan and June Keene.
A Graveside Service will be held at Highland Cemetery in Poland on September 3rd at 2pm, with a funeral reception at the Poland Town Hall.
