Louise A Stroud

Louise A. Stroud, born in Jackman, Maine to Charles and Lena (Julien) Stroud, passed away at the age of 83 in Damariscotta on August 12th.  Louise was a lover of all things bright and beautiful, cute and cuddly.  She was a joy to so many she met, whether she was creating art at Spindleworks or bussing tables at Big Top Deli, in Brunswick.  She loved people, and her exuberant personality brought smiles to those who met her.  Strangers weren't strangers for long, and she made friends wherever she went, especially at her favorite places, Dunkin, Reny's, Moody's, Reunion Station, and McDonald's.  In her retirement years she moved to the Damariscotta area, where she enjoyed bird watching, drives to the ocean, gardening, going out to eat, shopping, visiting farm animals, coloring, jig-saw puzzles, making dolls, and spending time with family and friends.  She had a special place in her heart for animals, babies, and all things pink.  She had a bigger place in her heart for the people who lovingly surrounded her: her caregivers at Mobius and later Cove's Edge, and her beloved friends at doll class.  These were people who delighted in who she was and created a community that supported her in living her best life.  Louise's life wouldn't be complete without all her friends and loving family, whom she adored and will miss her greatly.  Louise was full of love, and she let us know, always.  She is survived by her siblings, Fanny Poulin, Isabelle Arsenault, Charles (Diane) Stroud, and Eileen Wilkins, several cousins, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, great-grandnephews, and some very special friends she counted as family.  A private burial service will be held at the family plot at St. Anthony's cemetery, in Jackman, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date in the Damariscotta area.
