The world lost a beloved wife, mother and sister on June 9th, 2023. Mary Haggan passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a short illness. Mary was born on December 13, 1960, in Jackman, Maine. She spent most of her life in Jackman where she was the proprietor of Lumberjack’s Restaurant for a number of years. In the Summer of 2010, Mary relocated to the Bangor area where she spent the last 11 years working as a bookkeeper for CMD Power systems. In November of 2020, she married Mike Murphy and they spent the last 3 years at the beautiful home they shared in Hermon. Like her mother before her, Mary’s cooking skills were extraordinary and all who knew her will be able to remember a favorite dish or dessert that she made, or the amazing smells that greeted visitors when they walked into her home. In addition to her loving husband, Mary shared her life with her three children: Mandy and her partner Wade, Amy and her husband Kerry, and Kyle. She will also be lovingly missed by her siblings Cyndie, Nancy, Butch and Jenn. In her final days, Mary and her family were grateful to have assistance from various care providers at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and a special thank you is extended to all of them; their compassion knows no bounds. A private ceremony will be planned in the future. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to: the Jackman Paramedic Program in Mary’s name.
