Nancy Moody Obituary
Nancy Ann Moody, 89, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on November 24, 2025 with her daughter Danette Messer by her side. She was born on October 27, 1936 in Crystal, Maine, to parents Donald and Myrna Gerow and grew up alongside her two brothers, Donald and Wallace.
Nancy married Joseph Dore on November 3, 1956. Together they built a beautiful life and raised four wonderful children, Jody, Laurie, Danette and Kelly. Nancy loved her family with her whole heart. She was gentle, caring and the sweetest soul you could ever meet. She had a deep love for her kitties, treating them as part of her family and giving each one a life filled with affection. She enjoyed taking peaceful walks, planting flowers, going to Kens for lunch and spending time shopping. Her summers were often spent at a place that was dear to her heart, Big Gram’s Camp in Island Falls, ME. Her true happy place.
She is survived by her children: Danette Messer and significant other Larry Bigelow, Jody Dore and wife Lisa, Kelly Dore and wife Karen, and Laurie Dore with significant other Brian. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Aaron Boulette and husband Peter, Susan Davis and husband Shane, Tiffany Hanf and husband Andy and Annie Cates and significant other Nate, Jared Dore and wife Lyric, and Morgan Dore. She also leaves many beloved great grandchildren, Alexis and Matthew, Benjamin and Lilliana, Adan and Zachary, Isabella and Ava and Pheonix.
Nancy is pre-deceased by her parents, Donald and Myrna Gerow, her brothers Donnie and Wallace Gerow, her grandson Jason Dore, and her son- in- law Michael Messer. In accordance with Nancy’s wishes, no ceremony will be held.
Please remember her as she was kind, loving, and full of quiet joy- and keep her memory alive by sharing stories with others.
