Nancy Wyman Obituary

Nancy Wyman

Heaven gained a very special angel on April  14 , 2022.  Nancy Wyman was born on March 20, 1951 to Francis and Louise Wyman.  She was born in Portland, Maine and lived most of her life in Maine. She enjoyed life beyond what physicians thought possible and last month celebrated her 71st birthday!

Nancy was educated at The Pride Training School in Portland, Maine and Hilltop School in Waterville.  She worked many years at the Dill Center in Skowhegan and Ken A Set in Waterville.  Nancy was very meticulous and very proud of her work.

Nancy enjoyed traveling most of the United States with family.  While traveling she would admire God’s beautiful country.  Nancy always had a smile for everyone she met and would converse every chance she got!  One of the kindest humans you would ever meet.

She also loved to garden, knit and crochet.  Nancy spent many hours doing ceramics.  She made many beautiful crocheted blankets, handmade pot holders and latch hooked rugs and wall hangings. Nancy had many nieces and nephews whom she spent many hours with.  Family was very important to her, as she was to her family.  Nancy was a gift to her family that loved her and will be missed so greatly. She was born on the first day of Spring and that was always so significant to us.  She was the beginning of something great!  She was always so full of life, love and laughter.

Nancy is predeceased by her parents Francis and Louise, her brother Jefferson “Norris” James, two special nephews Gordon and Bruce Blanchard, and a special brother in law Peter Boothby.

She is survived by her sisters, Janet Garland and husband Kent of Embden and her children whom she spent great times with, Shawn Cyrway and wife “Jessie” and children.  Nancy had the special nickname for her niece that no one else called Jess.  Jess spent hours with Nancy shopping, doing crafts and spending time with their children Taylor and Shay.  Also, Jamie Cyrway and children Tyrr, Jaiden and Vivianne camping and shopping rides from work at the Dill Center was a highlight! Michael Boothby and partner Cheyanne, children Mason and Abby.  Nancy spent hours at the river waiting to see what treasure Michael would find to show everyone. Also listening to the great Conway Twitty and playing cards with him! Janet’s family was a joy to Nancy as she lived with them and helped to “teach” them right from wrong. Younger  sister  Karen McCarthy and partner Bob Burns of Windsor and children Shannondore, Adam, Tonya and Tanya.  Nancy loved to have a good time, dancing, singing or pulling a prank on someone was her joy! Older sister Shirley Blanchard and husband Earl of Augusta and children Earl Jr., Cheryl, David, and Sheila.  Sandra Brown and children Troy, Todd and Tara of Arizona.  Nancy is also survived by several great nieces and great nephews. Norris’s children also survive Nancy, Debbie, Dianna and Billy. Some of the memories were Aunt Nancy playing with them showing them how to build cars and trucks out of blocks when they were young! She loved to teach others!

The family would like to thank Nancy’s adopted family at Teakwood Knoll for the loving care they provided Nancy while she was with them.  They showed so much love to Nancy and she loved them.  It was very clear when Nancy became ill.  They have many pictures of the good times while she was in their care!

Thank you to The Androscoggin Hospice House for their care in the last days of Nancy’s life. A special thank you to Dr. Ross for being the advocate for Nancy during the many medical issues and always taking time to talk to Nancy’s sister Janet.
