Patricia A. (Lessard) Hughey was born in Jackman, ME on March 15, 1938 to Emile J. and Helen L. (Nadeau) Lessard. She married Kenneth D. Hughey on January 28, 1956 and they raised their family in Moose River. She is survived by her daughters, Sheryl and husband Larry Harth, Beverly Hughey, and Karen Finnegan, all of Jackman; three special grandchildren, Will Hughey and his wife Wendy Sloat of Moose River, Shawna and her husband Michael Maccario of Marblehead, MA, Evan Finnegan of Ashland, NH, and three beautiful great-granddaughters, Nynah Hughey of Moose River, Charlotte and Callie Maccario of Marblehead, MA; brothers, William Nadeau of Brownville, Francis and wife Nancy Lessard of Dennistown, and many treasured nieces, nephews, and cousins. Patsy was pre-deceased by her parents, husband, son Darrell, sister Geraldine Lessard, brother Roger Lessard, and sisters-in law Myra Hennebury and Evelyn Nadeau.
Although retired from the Jackman Health Center and Jackman Trading Post, Patsy remained active in her community and was generous with her time where she touched the hearts of many. She had many treasured friends. She was known for providing a meal or a warm pair of mittens to anyone in need. She volunteered for the Historical Society, Public Library, Food Pantry, and Voting Polls for many years.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the Whipple Cemetery in Jackman, followed by a gathering at Smokin’ Barrels.
