ANSON - Ralph A. Manzer, Jr., 92, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. Ralph was the oldest child of Ralph A. Manzer, Sr. and Amy Belle Manzer
(Clark) born on September 10, 1930.
Ralph was educated in the schools of Anson and North Anson. Graduating from Anson
Academy in 1948. Ralph married Alverna Jean Livingston (Puggie) on September 15,
1951. They were married for 60 years until her passing on April 26, 2012.
Ralph worked for the State of Maine as a registered land surveyor for 42 years. After
his retirement in 1990 he started his own land surveyor business.
Ralph was a Boy Scout Leader for over 20 years, coached little league and worked on
his beloved tree farm. He followed the Red Soxs and Patriots. His favorite sports
teams were the ones his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren played on. He
attended many, if not all of their games.
Ralph and Puggie enjoyed traveling the country in their motor-home along with his
siblings. In younger years they were avid snowmobilers and also enjoyed square
dancing around the state with their friends.
Ralph is survived by his five children. Sons: James Manzer and his wife Laurie of
Anson, John Manzer of Belgrade, Jerry Manzer and his wife Ellen of Solon, Jody
Manzer of Anson, and daughter Jean Manzer Stewart of South China. 15 grandchildren:
Melanie, James, Jamie, Jillian, Megan, Marisa, Jessie, Jennifer, Amy, Darryl, Joel,
Justin, Jessica, Jeremy and Jeffrey, 20 great grandchildren and one great-great
grandson. He is also survived by his siblings, Sherman Manzer and his wife June of
Skowhegan, Evangeline Bessey of North Anson, Frank Manzer and wife Dorothy of
North Anson, Polly Viles and husband Earl of Anson, Shirley Poirier of Gorham. Ralph
was predeceased by his parents, brother Charles Manzer and infant son Joel.
Visiting hours will be held from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Friday, January 27, 2023 at
Giberson's Funeral Home, 40 Maple St. Madison, Maine. Funeral services will be held
on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the First Congregational Church in North
Anson. If you are unable to attend the service will be live streamed on the Giberson Home Facebook page.

The family would like to thank the oncology department and staff at Redington-Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan and the Maine General Hospice staff for their excellent care of Ralph.
