Ramona Everett Obituary

Madison

Ramona Everett

Mona (as she liked to be known) passed away peacefully on February 6th at Redington Fairview General Hospital after a short illness.

She was born in Anson on August 20th 1933 to Linwood and Minerva Buzzell. She grew up in Anson, attended Garret Schenck School, graduated from Madison High School in 1951 and then worked for the local school district.

She married her soulmate Alfred (Buzzy) Everett in 1953 and they moved to Oklahoma where Buzzy was stationed in the Air Force. Once discharged from the service, they moved to the Boston area while Buzzy attended the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and later moved back to Anson where they resided with their children for the remainder of their lives.

Mona was a devoted wife and mother, spending many wonderful hours caring for her husband and family. She ran a daycare/preschool for a few years with her good friend Blanche Nichols. She and husband Buzzy also operated Taylor’s Drug Store in Anson and later in Madison, until her retirement.

Mona was a wonderful cook, seamstress, and was always willing to “lend a hand”. She enjoyed her flower gardens, snowmobile rides, home decor, and family gatherings, many of which took place at the family camp on Embden Pond. She met many lifelong friends during her years of involvement with the Anson-North Anson Snowmobile Club, ATOM car club, while volunteering at school, and at her local church.

She is predeceased by her husband Buzzy, sister Alayne Fletcher, brother-in-law Philip Fletcher, brother-in-law Robert Duhaime and daughter-in-law Jill Nichols Everett.

She is survived by her sister Roberta Duhaime, brother Clint Buzzell and sister-in-law Helen, her son Steven Everett, daughter Susan Everett Gray and her husband Barry, son James Everett and his wife Sara. Her grandchildren include Benjamin Gray and wife Tiarra LaPierre, Christopher Everett and wife Taylor, Jacob Sincyr, Joshua Everett, Jordan Everett, Molly Eolian her husband Cliff, Jade Everett and one great grandchild, Indie Adessa, daughter of Christopher and Taylor.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Woodlands Memory Care Facility, Maplecrest Rehabilitation and Living Center, the staff at Reddington Fairview General Hospital and caregiver & good friend Jody Peterson for their care of Mona.

Visiting hours will be Monday February 12th from 1 pm to 2 pm at the First Congregational Church in North Anson, ME with a service following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Carrabec Community School in North Anson, Garrett Schenck School in Anson, or the Anson-North Anson Snowmobile club in memory of Mona.
