We are sad to announce Richard (Butch) Lesko, 75, of Harmony, Maine died peacefully of natural causes at home on Monday April 24, 2023. Richard was born in Homestead, Pennsylvania to Mary (Florian) and John Lesko, grew up on Martha's Vineyard and lived in California and Salem, New Hampshire before moving to Maine, where he spent most of his life.
Richard was a loving husband to Mary Beth (Siragusa) Lesko and a loving and devoted father to Jonah of Harmony, Sara of New Hampshire and Hannah of Connecticut. He was a proud grandfather to three grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his mother, Mary (Florian) Hayden , his father, John, stepfather Joseph , his stepfather Floyd Hayden. and his brothers, Joseph and Robert.
Richard was a skilled carpenter and painter who worked in coastal Maine for many years. Richard had a dream of living to be 100 and was very health conscious. He spent much of his time seeking greater spiritual understanding, commitment and clarity. He was a faithful member of St Theresa Church in Oakland, Maine and learly a recipient of the Sabbatine Privilege. He was an excellent chef, He made genuine connections with people and his absence will be strongly felt by many friends and family members.
Richard was very interested and knowledgeable about natural, complementary and alternative methods of healing, He was a trained massage therapist/reflexologist and an avid gardener.
The viewing is at Giberson Funeral Home at 40 Maple Street in Madison Maine from 10 am to noon on April, 27, 2023. This will be followed by a Requiem Mass at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church at 35 Church Street in Oakland, Maine. . A reception will follow in the basement of St. Theresa's.
