Richard Loadwick, 70, of Mercer passed away peacefully at his home on April 20, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts the son of Marion and Alfred Loadwick and graduated from Dorchester High school in 1970.
Richard owned and operated Mercer Variety and Redemption with his wife for 15 years, then went on to work as a laborer for the Department of Transportation, he later transferred to an office position where he retired at the age of 62. He spent his free time enjoying things he loved such as Fishing, hunting, four wheeling, Ice fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Richard is survived by His loving wife of 44 years, Anne Loadwick “Luce” of Mercer, his brother Charles Loadwick of Skowhegan, his brother in-law whom he was very close with Wayne and Bonnie Luce of Norridgewock , His Father in-law Ellis Chevenir of Norridgewock, Tina Marie Boudreau of Anson, Deborah Savage and Michael Crossley of New Bloomfield, PA, and his Aunt Lynda Desourdy of Lake Placid NY whom was very dear to him, as well as many special cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends.
He is predeceased by his parents Alfred and Marion Loadwick, his brother Alfred Loadwick Jr., and a very special nephew David Luce of Norridgewock.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lori, Pam, and Eric of Beacon Hospice as well as Dr. Richard Polkinghorn and staff at Alfond Cancer Center.
A graveside service will be held at Sunset View cemetery in Norridgewock on April 28, 2023 at 10 am with a celebration of life following at the Mercer Community Center. The family has requested that those who attend dress casually. In Lieu of flowers send donations to Pine Tree Camps and Home for Little Wanderers in Richards name.
