**Anson, Maine**
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert P. French, 65, of Anson, who left us on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Redington Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan, Maine, surrounded by his loving family.
Affectionately known as "Bobby," he was born on November 15, 1959, in Skowhegan to Robert F. and Frances (Churchill) French. Bobby spent his childhood in Anson and proudly graduated from Carrabec High School in 1978. A devoted truck driver for most of his life, he worked tirelessly to provide for his family, demonstrating a profound love and commitment. Despite his demanding job, Bobby always prioritized his loved ones, and his greatest joy came from spending quality time with his children and grandchildren.
Bobby cherished camping trips with Laurie, the kids, and friends at Cathedral Pines, where laughter and memories were shared. He also found peace in simple pleasures—relaxing at home with his beloved dog, Annie, or enjoying a Bud Light by the pool on warm summer days.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 45 years, Laurie French; their son, Brandon French, and his girlfriend, Sarah Bessey; their daughter, Erica French, and her boyfriend, Michael York; and his treasured grandchildren, Michelle, Eleanor, and Beverly. Bobby is also survived by his brother, Donald French; nieces Emily and Abby; his brother, Michael French; and nephew Logan French, Sister-in-law Crystal Comeau and niece Casey, along with great-nieces and close family friend, Amanda Williams.
Bobby was preceded in death by his cherished parents, Robert F. and Frances (Churchill) French.
In honor of his life and the love he shared, a celebration will be held at the VFW in Madison, Maine, on July 26, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. We invite all who knew and loved Bobby to join us in remembering a truly special man.
