Robert Moody Obituary

NORTH ANSON  - ROBERT D. MOODY passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes on Oct 20, 2023.

Rob was born on Sept. 23, 1959 to Gary & Sandra (Cushing) Moody. Rob grew up in Anson and lived there most of his life. Rob graduated from Carrabec High School and attended UMO. He played sports in high school, even winning the baseball batting title his senior year.  Rob's love for sports continued throughout his life with men's softball, darts (several trophies), and car racing. Rob was on several pit crews of well known Maine drivers, Marty Leblanc, Stan Meserve, Scott Chubbuck and others.  For the past several years, Rob was passionate about golf. Any Saturday he wasn't working and every Sunday, he was golfing.  Rob was always there for his family, especially his sister.  Growing up, Rob loved hunting, fishing, and motorcycles.

Rob would do anything for anyone. If you were to ask his friends to describe Rob, they would say nicest guy you could ever meet. This year marked twenty-five years at Hammond Lumber Co. in Skowhegan. Rob was very proud of this accomplishment. Rob loved his job and customers. Over the years, Rob built his home.

Rob was predeceased by his parents, maternal grandparents Robert & Ellen Cushing; paternal grandmother Thelma (Paine) Moody, and his beloved dog Dega; we believe they are together again.

Rob is survived by his sister, Laurie Moody of Augusta, who will miss him dearly. Cousin Frank Paine and wife Collette of North Anson. Frank and Rob were "brothers" and best friends. A maternal aunt, Carolyn Snell and husband Dan of Newcastle. Rob leaves several cousins and friends too numerous to name.
