Valerie Kelley Obituary

Valerie Kay Kelley, 68, of Madison, Maine, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Valerie was born on October 3, 1956, in Skowhegan, Maine, to Carlton and Theresa (Hayden). She grew up in Madison, where she graduated from Madison High School in 1974. Valerie spent much of her life in Madison, creating lasting memories with family and friends. She was known for her caring nature, infectious laughter, and unwavering support of those she loved.

On June 10, 1978, Valerie married her beloved Warren Kelley Jr. in a beautiful ceremony at her parents' home. Together, they built a life full of love, family, and cherished moments.

Valerie is survived by her devoted husband, Warren Kelley Jr., her son Dominic Kelley and his wife Aleesha, and their children Andrew and Elanea; her son Damien Kelley, and his children Gavin, Miranda, Lily, and Layla; her son Mackenzie Kelley and his wife Kayla, and their daughter Cora. Valerie is also survived by her mother, Theresa Hayden; her sisters, Winnie, Becky, Cheryl, and Carla; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved her deeply.

Valerie was predeceased by her father, Carlton Hayden; her brothers, Larry and Zane; and her beloved son, Jeremy Kelley.

Valerie loved the outdoors, and gardening was one of her greatest joys. She found peace and fulfillment in tending to her plants, watching them grow, and spending time in the fresh air. After her children grew up and moved away, she formed a special bond with her dog, Zeke, who became like another child to her. But most of all, Valerie cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by their love and laughter.

In accordance with Valerie’s wishes, she was cremated, and her urn will remain with her devoted husband, Warren, so they will always be together. There will be no formal service, but if friends and family would like to visit and pay their respects, they are invited to reach out to the family to make arrangements.

Valerie’s memory will forever be cherished, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
