Willard Crosby Jr. Obituary

Norridgewock-

Willard E. Crosby, Jr., 74, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 28, 2024. He died at home unexpectedly after years of bravely battling heart disease.

He was born March 19, 1949, in Bangor, the son of Willard and Shirley (Russell) Crosby.  He attended Brewer High School before enlisting in the Army.  He served in Vietnam the years of 1967 and 1968 and there was awarded the Purple Heart for the injuries he received when the truck he was driving hit a mine.  In 1989, he studied and earned his GED.

Will drove tractor trailer for many years.  First hauling explosives and then buying his own truck and hauling lumber and wood chips.

Will loved the Lord Jesus.  He looked forward to his morning Bible reading time when he and wife would read together.  Will loved the outdoors.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Will had a kind heart towards animals and especially loved his pets.  He always had funny nicknames for them.

Will was predeceased by his father and mother Willard E, Sr. and Shirley C. Crosby, a son Heath E. Crosby, as well brothers Ronald M. and Scott A. Crosby.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Loretta M. Crosby, son Lance W. Crosby and his wife Stacy, sister Beverly A. Sawyer and husband Leland and three brothers, Michael W. Crosby and wife Carolyn, Steve A. Crosby and wife Kelly and Robert W. Crosby.

Burial and memorial service will be held in Sunset View Cemetery 252 Mercer Road Norridgewock in the spring. Date and time to be announced.
