William Norman Obituary

Mr. William C. Norman of The Forks Plantation, Maine, passed away on January, 21, 2024 at Redington Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan, Maine after a short illness.

Bill was the son of William and Ruth Norman. He was born on June 24, 1947 in Paterson, New Jersey. He moved to Ocean County N.J., and eventually established Norman Enterprises. He was an independent contractor, building new homes, as being a home renovation expert. He worked as a sub-contractor for various construction companies through the years primarily T.P. Mallory (Bolton) Construction. He even spent a few years long hauling after buying a KW without knowing how to drive or shift one.

Bill loved hunting and fishing, and he was a member of the Biggest Buck in Maine Club. H was also an avid NASCAR fan, especially the Northeast Modifies. On Friday night you could find Bill at New Egypt Speedway, (where he met his wife Barbara), and Saturday nights at Wall Stadium. Richie Evans, Jerry Cranmer, and Barney Truex were his favorites.

He first came to The Forks Plantation in the early 1970's, finally moving to The Forks in 2010. Bill married Barbara Merkel on May 3, 1990, in The Forks Plantation. Bill loved life, worked hard, and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He loved blue claw crabs, his long hair, and his Ford Pickup Trucks. He would rather push a Ford, than drive a Chevy.

Bill was predeceased by his parents.

He leaves behind his wife Barbara, and a daughter Susan (from a previous marriage), as well as many friends. Special friends Bob Kempker & family, Dickie MeGee, Tom Batista and Tom Mallory, of N.J. Colin Bates & family, The Berry family, Joe Baeli, David Cunningham, and Dan MacDonald & family all of Maine. Art Summers and family or Georgia, Al Osborn of Florida. Bill and Anna Conely of R.I., and Mark Fuller of N.C.

A very special thank you to for the care, comfort and compassion, that was extended to Bill by The West Forks Volunteer Fire Department, UKVAS, and the staff at RFV Hospital.

Per Bill's wishes, services will be private.
