1933-2016

Bingham - Gerald Withee Palmer, 83, of Bingham passed away at CMMC in Lewiston following a brief illness.

 Jerry was born on Pleasant Ridge April 3, 1933 to Phillip and Ella Withee Palmer. 
Jerry graduated from Bingham High School the class of 1952.

 He moved to Connecticut shortly after graduation where he lived and worked before retiring to Bingham in 1988. 

Jerry had a passion for gardening and his flowers were a beautiful sight appreciated by neighbors and passersby. He truly enjoyed snowmobiling with family and friends, and shared many happy memories of trips to “The County”. He was also an avid photographer who captured on film the special moments during family vacations and holidays. Nothing meant more to him than his family.

    Jerry was a very likeable and fun loving man.  He was also a hard worker, a good provider for his family, and a devoted son who enjoyed a special bond with his mother Ella.

   Jerry was predeceased by his father Phillip, mother Ella and his sister Jean Welton.

   He is survived by his children Brenda Kovach of Middlefield Connecticut, Gerald Palmer, Jr of Meriden Connecticut, James Palmer of Hallowell Maine and Brady Palmer of Manchester Maine.  He is also survived by ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren as well as his long time companion Shirley Weston. He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed.

Friends are asked to join the family for a time of visitation and remembrance on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 4:00- 7:00 PM at Giberson Funeral Home 18 River Street, Bingham. A funeral service will held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 1:00 PM in the First Parish Congregational Church in Bingham , followed by a burial in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
