     Gloria Cahill, 71, passed away late Friday night surrounded by loved ones in her Madison home.

She was born in Farmington, Maine on August 14, 1944 to Harold and Bertha(Tozier) Withee. She worked 27 years for Skowhegan Driving School teaching generations of kids how to drive.

 

Aside from her family and job Gloria's passion was supporting Madison High School athletics. She could always be found in the end zone of a Friday night football game or sitting on the front row of bleachers at a basketball game cheering on "her kids". 

 

 

     Gloria was predeceased by her brothers Richard Withee, Frank Withee, and Doug Withee.

 

She is survived by her always supportive husband Raymond Cahill; her daughter Lisa LaChance and partner Linwood Cowan of Madison; grandchildren Joshua Newhall and Chelsea Newhall of Madison; her sisters Alice Paine, Mae Rodrigue, Joann Black, and brother Clifford Withee and Jan Withee all of Madison, as well as her brother Ralph Withee and wife Charlotte Withee of Anson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. 

 

 

     The family would like to thank everyone in the community for all they have done for Gloria this past year as she battled with cancer. Also they would like to thank everyone at the Harold Alfond Cancer Center, Maine General in Augusta, and all of the Maine General hospice staff as all of these people supported not only Gloria but the family as well through this journey.

 

In lieu of flowers the family would like to support Gloria's love for Madison High School athletics by asking for donations to made to the Madison All-Sport Boosters which can be done at any branch of Skowhegan Savings Bank or can be given to Pastor Tobin Curtis of the Community Church of Christ and he will deliver them to the Boosters. 

 

Visiting hours will be held at Giberson's Funeral Home on Maple St. In Madison on Tuesday evening from 4pm to 7pm. The funeral will be held at the Community Church of Christ at 43 Maple St. in Madison at 11am Saturday, August 13, 2016 , following the service there will be a celebration of life at Gloria and Raymond's home in Madison.
